and watched the animals below
and felt like she belonged
and this is how it was
for the last couple of months
never better
and you thought it'd be a good idea
for you to go out into the world but
you were wrong

and the summers came
and the summers went
and we'd spend our time
on the park bench and
Julia would give me a smile
we'd sit in silence for a while
and in that moment i realized
that on the inside my heart was

she'd stare into space
wouldn't come back for a couple of days
i told her i'm sorry
she said don't be worried i just like to dream
just like
anyone who has something worth seeing

she'd use drugs to ease the pain
but it would never
truly take it away
she was still there
and that was more than she could bear
you could see the sadness in her eyes
she would never lead
her own life
